It’s been a while since I last devoted time to my blog to add a story. The pandemic, among others, and everything that it brought about was such a big distraction. At first, the community was in chaos not having experienced such a thing in recent memory. The restrictions and lockdowns added to the misery and the accompanying scarcity of basic necessities such as food, medicines and others, added to the worries.
But then it’s not good to be easily defeated by the unseen enemy. After sometime, people started to adjust to what has been termed as the new normal and followed health protocols like staying at home, frequent washing of hands, wearing face masks and face shields when necessary.
At first, local government units used their emergency funds to distribute provisions to the members of the community. However, big families felt the ‘ayudas’ were not enough so they tried to look for ways to augment what is at hand. The pandemic somehow gave the push for people to rediscover their talents and abilities and brought about online entrepreneurs that, in one way or another, helped the economy to get back on its feet again.
As for me, I was able to use the time to go back to one of the hobbies which I had set aside in favor of my first love which is writing. That hobby is painting and the time at home made me try three media: watercolor, acrylic to charcoal. Needless to say, I so enjoyed my stay at home, being one of the restrictions to keep safe during the pandemic.
