Hello, Universe!
Happy Pride! June has been an incredible month filled with remarkable experiences that I will forever cherish. Walking the runway at the iconic GMHC Latex Ball event was an absolute honor. From planning my captivating routine to creating a unique shawl to go with my latex jumpsuit and hat designed by Atsuko Kudo Latex, every moment was filled with excitement. This year’s ball had the theme, “Music is My Life” and not only joyfully celebrated the amazing NYC Ballroom community, but also raised crucial awareness about HIV/AIDS and paid tribute to people in the ballroom community whose lives were lost to AIDS-related complications.
Next up was the Philippine Independence Day Parade. Being part of a vibrant parade celebrating Filipino culture here in NYC filled me with immense joy. The camaraderie among fellow Filipinos was electrifying as we danced and celebrated our shared heritage. The highlight was the warm weather and the surprise of free Jollibee treats—a true delight!
My commitment to sustainable fashion continued in June. I created new designs from recycled fabrics, incorporating materials collected during my recent trip to Asia. Embracing zero-waste principles, I crafted a shawl using 100% of the fabric, leaving no scraps behind. June also featured some memorable photo shoots (more to come)!
June’s Smile Train trip to Guatemala really touched my heart. Spending time with children and families undergoing cleft palate procedures was a humbling experience. Their stories of resilience and strength inspired me to continue to make a positive impact.
As I reflect on these wonderful moments, I was also grateful for the opportunity to connect with Miss Dominican Republic, Miss Armenia, and Miss Thailand during a delightful dinner in New York City. It reminded me of the importance of fostering friendships and embracing joy.
June was a month of vibrant pride, unforgettable experiences, and meaningful connections. I am so grateful for everyone’s support. Thank you for joining me on this incredible June journey.
Looking Forward to what July holds!
