The Philippine cinema’s biggest stars who are among the chosen ones to be included in the casting coup of “Batang Quiapo” had only high praises and positive descriptions of Primetime King Coco Martin in a recent media conference.
The stellar line-up who came to the mediacon was composed of Lovi Poe, Charo Santos, Cherie Pie Picache, John Estrada, Susan Africa, Ping Medina, McCoy de Leon, Christopher de Leon, Lorna Tolentino, Ronnie Lazaro, Julio Diaz, Alan Paule and many others.
“Creative genius, mover, generous, excitingly unpredictable, gracious artist, magician, professional, hard-worker, authentic, intuitive” are just some of the nouns and adjectives that the aforementioned stars have lavishly given to Coco.
Coco is not only the lead star of the series. He also dons the hats of scriptwriter, creative director and co-producer.
Starting May 8, Tanggol, Coco’s character, takes on a 360 degree turn for the better in his life after realizing that it’s about time to change. This does not mean, however, that the succeeding episodes will be dull and lack-luster as Coco, being the creative director (“magician” as a co-star described him), assures that the lives of the characters will finally intertwine causing chaos and more complications to the already complicated setup.
Coco, on his part, having heard the praises from the cast, simply flashed his enigmatic smile and said “Thank you!” He also expressed his gratitude to the viewers all around the globe for making “Batang Quiapo” a part of their nightly activities since the series premiered in February.
Coco said that the support and love showed by the viewers of “Batang Quiapo” posed a big challenge to the production that moves them to come up with exciting episodes every day. (Photos courtesy of ABS-CBN)
